Domain names. How much would you pay?

So last night i was going over some of the domain names in my collection. Among them i spotted www.cssguy.com and www.makedreamreality.com

To me... both seem quite valuable. CSS guy for example would be perfect for a cascading style sheet tutorial website. I have no doubt that with the right advertising campaign that it could generate a nice amount of traffic. The other www.makedreamreality.com (that is MAKE-DREAM-REALITY) would be VERY popular for some form of entrepreneurial home page.

In the past I have sold domains in the order of $8000 USD. Id expect these two domains to return at least $1000 + USD possibly alot more.

My question is, what would you pay for either of them? (and no I'm not looking to sell them just yet)

I would pay not much seeing as their is no traffic or any developed site. To me, I wouldn't pay more than $10-$15

    mfazio,

You'll probably be able to get some opinions on this at the following site...

    Low $XX

... But I do see the potential in CSSGuy.com. It's short, brand able, and a .com.

thanks for the site amg2000, very nice link.

yeah, i see www.cssguy.com as having some decent potential. As a computer science PhD student I wont find it hard to develop it into a CSS tutorial website.

I'm undecided as to www.makedreamreality.com, I think it could have great entrepreneurial potential? If you were a motivational speaker or something of that nature would you not think that it would be a great domain name for your business?

i wouldnt pay anything for them. there would be no type in traffic, and any recognition for the domains would come from the buyer building something.

Yeah, like i said, cssguy.com would be developed and then sold, or kept depending on traffic. I don't expect people to randomly type in addresses in their browser and hit either of those sites.

So then heres my next question. Lets say i develop www.cssguy.com into a full blown CSS tutorial website. No promotion, just content. How much would u value it then? Assuming good design.

Domain name selling is about 80% luck. I tried it already. If you want real answers to questions, you www.dollarmuch.com is probably your cheapest way to go. Plus if you list with them ( only costs 1 dollar ), and if it doesnt sell within 3 months i think, they will buy the domain off you if you want, I think up to $500.
