Domain Name Advice

Hi I am starting a new website and trying to get the right domain name. I don't want to give away what its all about. But could you tell me if you think either of these names are either memorable, good names all around, able to be branded and just good for a site. Thanks

meet and read.com
meetandread.com

thank books.com
thankbooks.com

You're missing some key elements here. Marketing 101...now I know you don't want to tell us the idea for your site, but if your goal is to have a memorable domain name then consider the following generic advice. Nothing is in a name alone, by that I mean that when someone says the name "McDonalds" they think of what??? they hear what?? creating a sort and easy name is different then creating a memorable one.

If you pain-stakingly narrowed your selection to these two domain names then create some vs. marketing and present them to your trusted friends and family. Create and logo for each, a slogan, imagine the commercial describing your business niche using the name. I guarantee that you will see a clearer picture and come to a decisive answer. With-out more information this is the best advice I can give you. Either name can work under the right situation.

I did not painstakingly narrow it down I have just been brainstorming a name. The site as you can tell is on the topic of books. I am just looking for opinions on the names.

Either name can work under the right situation.

The advice I gave is constructive and works. Let me state first that I've been in marketing since I was 15. The names you have are just names until you tell us more about their application to your business. example: I have a book club forum that selects a book each month and the members can buy and discuss them at my website. Then I would say hands down "meetandread.com" is the best viable choice between the two. - or - I am opening a online book store that only sell -let's say- "informational books"; self help, how-to's, instructionals, etc... Well I could make a extremely good agruement for "thankbooks.com" as the domain.

I am curious as to how you came up with only 2 names from your brainstorming session and how long was your session.

Look, I'm not here to knock you, your idea, or the names you have chosen. But you ask for some advice and there it is. take it or leave it -no gun here- your choice..

any of them are OK, best to go with one of the ones you already own, like stockripper says, any of them can work under the right situation.
Not many people are going to google 'read and meet' so it would take a good marketing strategy to be successful...strong site, good logo, well SEO'd etc etc.
If you want to PM me an outline of your idea, feel free, I can come up with some domains for you .. and I won't steal your idea, I am too busy for that, and besides it wouldn't do my credibility much good
