MySpace is a great tool to create word of mouth (eg. Bacon Salt case) among a pool of mainly Gen Y and X peeps.
If you're product is more high end and expensive, it might not be a good channel as it can degrade what you're selling and most people using MySpace won't be able to afford your products in the first place.
