You may want to give a little more info about what types of items you supply...

Mostly I specialize in having parts manufactured for people/companies. If you have a new product or a better mouse trap, I can have it manufactured in volume for you. There will be minimums and this may be 20 pc’s or a 100 pc’s or more, will just depend on what it is. I can also reverse engineer products as well. If you are currently purchasing from a warehouse and want to up the volume to increase profits then that is what I do. For example lets say you are buying a trailer axel bearing for $10.00 and resold for $18.00 and maybe you purchase 10 at a time but after looking at your last year sales you see you have moved 100 of these. Give me the bearing you are selling, I reverse engineer it and now it cost you $2.00 a bearing but you buy all 100 at a shot. It cost you $200.00 you still sell at $18.00 and now you profit $1,600.00 instead of last years $800.
HP cartridges are going to be made by a manufacturer but of course HP will have exclusive selling rights. I have tons of contacts so I’m sure I can supply you with these, but in high a volume manner. If you are looking to just supply your office stationary I’m not your man. If you are wanting to add this to inventory as a supplier to the public, then PM me if you are interested in talking further.

I forgot to say that I do not use China import. The profits im sure are good, but the products are just too low in quality to support longevity for my business. i.e. customers will become dissatisfied.

Due to the e-mails I am getting, I am going to try to clarify what it is I do and why I decided to post on this site. When I first read through the site I saw some posts of people wandering where they could have things manufactured, or how to contact an overseas Co. That is where I thought I could help. I am a U.S. based Co. that does all that for you. If you think you can just contact a China Co. and say hey I am sending you $10k and would like this product in return, then you are setting your self up for a rip off. Yes it could go your way but they could just as easily keep your money. It is VERY costly and time consuming to go after a foreign manufacturer. I have everything in place to do this successfully. When we do business, you are buying from the manufacturer but through me. If there is a problem you go after me, here in the U.S. When you say you want something manufactured it will need to be your own name put on it (private labeling) and you will have to purchase in certain qty. When you have something manufactured they don’t just make 5 or 10 they are switching an entire assembly line over for your product. There are tons of products already designed that you can start your own line of, it doesn’t always have to be a new design. For example, come up with something funny to put on a coffee cup and now sell it on e-bay, local stores, or online stores. Or go talk to a local college book store and see if you can supply them with your new cup line or with something they want on it. If you are wondering where or how to get something made that is what I do but it will come straight from the manufacturer to you. there is no middle man that has bought 500 at $10.00 and is now selling only the 10 you want at $20.00 so you can only get away with marking it up to $21.00. If you think your idea is grand then you will have to have conviction, stand behind it, pull out your pocket book and take a jump. No guts no glory. This is an entrepreneur site.

Well if anyone is looking for help in China I'm your guy. China does have great high quality products, it's just bad buyers and importers bringing in crap.

I encourage anyone interested in business in China to go over there and inspect what is going on firsthand.

Spend a week in the trenches over there and you will instantly understand who you can and can't trust.

We lead small group of entrepreneurs to visit the invitation only Canton Fair, This fair has over 20,000 quality suppliers showing virtually every product being exported to the USA.

If anyone wants to join us and see what is happening in China firsthand check out our website borderlessworld.biz

I live in the United States so a back-and-forth ticket to China would cost about $1500. Not the cheapest way for the average person.

No Doubt. The cost to go is significant, but the value of the experience is well worth it.

Spending a week at a Global Trade show or directly in the factories will give the direct intel that many entrepreneurs need.

Tools like alibaba.com are great for browsing. You can deal with an agent or a trading company for a small fee. But to really have ownership of a project there is no substitute to dealing direct.

In fact you are both right, its just you're talking about different sections of the business lifecycle. What getit4u offers is a lower risk (lower margin) method of learning about a business and product, whereas Adam you are discussing/operating when businesses feel more confident about their market and cashflow.
    Yours, John
