Do I need phone line? Any alternatives

    Hello all,

I'm almost done creating my website for my business, now I need a way for my customers to contact me. I have email contact for them, but I've read in some books that I need contact info that is reliable. I was thinking of investing in a separate phone line, but the thing is I'm only 16 and I would only be able to answer the phone when I came home from school. So it would look pretty weird if my business hours were 4-10pm. Is is really worth it?
I could get an answering machine to take calls then answer them when I get home if that would work.

Is there an alternate way you guys have to contact customers I don't want to be stuck with a fax, answering machine and phone line if my business fails. What do you guys use to contact customers and is emailing them good enough?

I know some companies handle phone calls for businesses. They will learn you product or service and help people but it would cost you some money.

Skype has been my most powerful communication tool.

Runs via the internet. I have a US and UK phone number. And you can opt in to use the voicemail package. Most importantly it's very very cheap and very reliable.

We use vonage. Its pretty good i feel. Skype is similar but vonage is what we use.
