Distributorship Opportunities?

I have worked in sales in the past and am tired of being the top producer month after month only to make money for someone else. Therefore, I am currently looking to start a distributorship in northern Indiana. I have a huge contact at a major grocery chain and know that if I can find a great product to push the skys the limit. I feel as though the economy is going to get worse in the future and am looking for a cheap product that I can still make a profit on. I would love to hear feedback on some good suppliers or upcoming supplier trade shows in the midwest area.

All you west coast readers: what are some popular products in your stores that just haven't made their way east yet.

Any other advice on starting a distributorship would be much appreciated.

Hey jcira, not sure exactly what your looking for. But a Distributorship has just been started in my home town, Louisville, KY. They are selling a product called Force, (a lubricant you pour into your gas tank to reduce emissions and get better gas mileage).

The thing is, they haven't even Launched this product yet. They will be launching it this coming saturday, and are currently looking for people in other cities, who would like to open new markets. If your at all interested, either visit the website, or come down to Louisville this saturday for the launch party.

wow, that sounds like an innovative prodcuct especially with all the green initiatives that obama is proposing. Unfortunatley I'm looking for something that I could put on the shelves of a major grocery store chain. They have an auto section in all the stores but wouldn't sell anything overly expensive. If you could hit me with the website I would love to learn more about the product.

Thanks for the responses. They all sound like great products but unfortunately not in the niche that I'm shooting for. Does anyone know of any supplier trade shows coming up or a website where I can find that information?

We are a producer of automotive engine oil. Sometimes certain stores have a section for items like this as a convenience to their customers.
