Yep! I'm a karaoke nut but it has greatly helped me too with self esteem, confidence, public speaking, pitching a product or even a service. It even helped me when I was pitching my product on the Discovery Channel to Billy Mays. If anyone cares to see me on TV pitching a product, here is a short clip: PitchMen: Handi-Strapped Ride : Video : Discovery Channel
It does NOT MATTER if you can sing well...but if you can sing in front of people...and a few nice looking girls in the bar, then you should NEVER get nervous or intimidated by presenting anything else to people in business or even a business interview.
I knew TV appearances were coming so I practiced alot of karaoke at a number of different places to get ready (I was a singer already but really so is everyone) Karaoke GREATLY helped me in overall confidence and all said that I was a NATURAL for the camera on the Discovery Channel. No I wasn't... I just practiced alot of karaoke! I think that is the hardest thing to do with people/in front of people.
I HIGHLY recommend karaoke for business for the best social and presentation skills you can get. I think karaoke is THE BEST "exercise" you can do for an outgoing, fearless persona you can develop for the business world.
Anyone have any thoughts on this theory? Anyone else enjoy karaoke and have experienced how it helps in business? Again...you don't have to be a great singer...you just have to be you and get up there and show people who YOU are. Nobody expects the pros at karaoke..it's for amateurs...but there a few pros too once in a while. It's fun and good for your entrepreneurship!!!
