Dating Website
Hi EVERYONE!
I am interested in building a dating website but have no clue where to start. How much would it cost to build a website etc.? Also, if anyone is interested in doing this for me let me know.
Thanks

Well there are 2 things here when building a dating site.
First off the design. It might cost you anywhere from 500-3000 for a design
Where these kind of website get really expensive is paying for the programming side. The PHP programming that is needed to maintain a database of users with profiles and all sorts of other stuff you need to think about. That might cost you a few thousand alone.

Why don't you start a dating site for entrepreneurs/business owners. There is no doubt they are a different "breed" than others. Different mentality, goals and many more personality traits. They appreciate and thrive on risk/challenge. That life or outlook does not fit everyone. I am single and dating. I notice a very BIG difference as I mention.
There is no doubt this type of dating site would be a winner.

You should first plan it out and decide what features you want in your site etc. You won't know where to start without a plan.

Go for a dating script and learn as you go. Unless you have a ton of capital then this niche is really difficult to get anywhere with.

i tried building a dating site using joomla. it's so very buggy.
i think you need a really great script for a dating site, one that is fast and visually pleasing, and a crapload of money to market it.
i wouldn't suggest doing it unless you're ready to invest a lot and have a specific niche that you want to do.

I put my site Free community dating online service with local photo personals online within a week and spent $10 for the name only. Currently looking partners as to get this site profitable business, I will need:
1. Integrate mobile MMS/SMS messaging that pictures can be sent directly from mobiles and VIP members can subscribe notifications to mobile.
2. Print leaflets to market it as SEO is not viable due to high competition.
This could cost around $500. If somebody is willing to invest more, I would use it to Website Designer.
Professional Dating site software licensees will cost over $500.

If you want a standard dating website out of the box, you will not get much out of it.
They say, if you feed peanuts, you get monkey's.
You should not choose for a standard one, but make it special what seperates you from others.
Choose for a standard framework, but make it custommade.
It will cost you a few thousend $ (depends on the FO), but you will have a better chance to success.
If you are serious I would maybe interested to become partner.
I have my own webdeveleper company which specializes in these kind of webapplications based on Open Source standard.

My opinion, the dating website thing has become way overdone and too specialized. Not to say it can't make money, not sure they are in it for the long run is all.
Besides just building a cool site, you should really plan it out, basically do a business plan or go through the mental exercise of answering the questions for yourself.
