    Exclamation Crochet Business Startup

Hi, I would like to start a crochet business since I'm good at it and my friends are always telling me I should sell my stuffs. I don't know what is the best way to start though...Should I make a bunch of stuffs in the same category and focus on that only ( such make baby blankets and related only) and then launch them through an online website or should I create a website and only make what is ordered? Both will take a good amount of time and I am sophomore Bio major right now so...yeah!
I already have someone that I trust who offered to be my investor (money is needed to buy yarn and other supply depending on the project...) All I need is how to start for now please.
    Thank you

You might try etsy.com just to test the market. This would be a low cost way to start to see what sells & what doesn't.

I used to have a crochet biz called Crazy Cool Crochet. At the time I owned a children's shop and made poncho's when it got slow at night (when ponchos were all the rage). I made and sold 50 ponchos in 3 wks around Christmas. After I closed my store I continued to make and sell in local craft and children's shops on consignment. You might try that. You really don't need an investor. Yarn costs about $3 a skein and you can make a lot from one skein.

I really don't think you should set up your own website coz the cost of that and the competition wouldn't be worth it. Etsy is the way to go if you want to go online.
