I recently applied to a credit card merchant and they said that you can only have one source of revenue for each account though this might be a company policy
shucks...how much does it cost to set up one then?
it really depends on the company, some seem to have big start up fees while others dont, shop around and find one thats right for you
why don't you just use worldpay or something on the lines of that?
Try worldpay, 2checkout and nochex
Thanx guys, will check those out.
It really depends on where you are and your type of business as well as your business names.Originally Posted by koko0909
If you are in the United States and processing more than $1,000 a month, a merchant account might be better than using a third party processor , like 2Checkout / Paypal. Paypal might be a bit cheaper at first for a merchant account, but sometimes getting your money takes a bit longer. With a merchant account and an electronic payment gateway, you will usually get your money in 48-72 hours.
Yes it depends on the sales agent and the acquiring bank. For example, if your DBA is Pets R Us and you are selling office products then you might think about another merchant account or renaming your business. This way, if someone bought a lot of office supplies but they see 'Pets R Us' on the credit card statement, they might not recognize the charge and request a chargeback.Originally Posted by blah23
I have used ProPay.com in the past, and I can vouch for them that they do a good job.
i use authorize.net through north american bancard.
I can give you the number to my dealer from North Florida.
You could check with worldpay, chronopay, moneybookers & multicards. They accept majority of credit cards and also can help you on setting the payment system as you are looking for. I am not sure about their set-up fees though.
