CREATION and DISTRIBUTION of "glamor" products ?

Hi guys,
As we all know there are $0.2 ball pens, as well as several hundreds worth Parker pens. There are $50 watches, as well as $50k worth watches... now let's imagine that you have spotted a niche where are $10 products, but are no "glamor" products.

You created a rough concept, hired a designer who remodeled your product in 3d, photo-rendered it and you found a factory that is capable of manufacturing this product... what would you do next? I.e. how would you distribute, sell your product?

The idea I currently came up with would be partnering with an Internet shop that would do the order receiving, packing & shipping, then running an advertising article in a local glamor magazine ( such as " blah, blah, blah, the new must-have of the season... " ) and seeing how much sells will it bring. After one could use this information to approach potential foreign dealers, offering them to buy your product at a wholesale price for their local distribution.

Maybe someone knows other ways of selling such products?
