    Creating an Online Alliance !!!

    Hey Guys,

Me and a few guys are planning to create some kind of online alliance, Have any ideas to make it work ???

The reason for the alliance is to save you a lot of time and money, bcz members will help each other to promote the brand. It will also help you reach the top quicker. The more members in the alliance, the stronger it becomes.

We have to figure out what each member could bring to the table for its members. This alliance will result in each member benefiting from it, and best of all, no costs. This alliance will result in promotion of each member's brand, reaching new customers thru each other etc.

    Few Examples

    1) A few people send out newsletters every week, they could mention certain member's product or service per letter, this will increase exposure for the person. In return he could have an ad banner of your site on his site.

    2) Some people are web designers, they could design your website in return for promotion on the site

    3) A person knows SEO, he could optimize your site in return for mentioning his site on your blog

(Many more possibilities, all win/win situations)

We need to figure out a couple of things. One is how to make this really work out smoothly, second and most importantly, anyone who wants to join, write down all the ways you could benefit other members. Write details of how you can help others increase awareness of their products/services. We will figure out specific details later.

We are planning to create the alliance in a few weeks hopefully, for now we just need numbers and skills that each person could bring to the table.

    Thanks

If these people are local, hold a meeting once a week or twice a month. Or else create a website tell about what you do, include a private chatroom and discuss stuff with each other in there.

Strategic Alliances work well when they share the same or similar customer base and non-compeitive but mutually complementary to each other..
This will give an UNIQUE identity and focus to the newsletter and website, rather than confusing the businesses and their prospects with a mixture of various nature..

To illustrate this, compare these two groups of alliance and see which one makes more sense to the businesses, as well as the consumers:
    1) MakeUp Artist, Spa, Slimming Salon, Hair Stylist, Women's Gym, Image & Fashion Consultant..
    2) Butcher, Business Consultant, Barber, Buyer, Bowling Centre, Bridal Services..

Something to think about & consider..

Hey Inle, you got a point there, the first one definitely makes more sense than the second one......

Do you think there is any way for the second one to work as well too?

You mean linking up the Butcher, Business Consultant, Barber, Buyer, Bowling Centre, Bridal Services???

It might work if your alliance does not need a focus or does not want to look at a focused profit from the focused market group..

It will depends on the reasons why you want to start this alliance..
Is it for generating profits, information provider or creating a general business directory under the letter "B"?
