    Creating an Invoice?

Can anyone link me to some sort of tutorial of creating an invoice for a service?

    Or

Can someone give me an example of an invoice they give their customers?

    Thanks

Invoices can vary from extremely detailed to very simple.
    Heres the general idea.

    Header:
    Your Company Name, Address
    Other Company Name, Address

Line Items Each product type or service type is a new line item(Anything with a different Unit Price, delivery date, or product name must have a seperate line item):

    Each line Item has:
    -The product/service names and descriptions
    -Amount of products/services
    -Unit Price of each product/service
    -Date of delivery/Period of Performance
    -Line item cost

Add up all the cost of the line items and come up with an Invoice total cost.

You need an invoice date, and I would add an invoice due date (even though you don't have any real power to enforce it un-less you have a formal contract with your customer.)

You may want to include the payment method preferred, including how to make a check out, if credit card is accepted.

    Thats the general idea.

    Hi Bored,

If you are interested, I have a tool that automatically generates invoices based on your services. You fill in a form about the service you are providing and how long it took you to complete it. Then when you are done with the job, just hit the "create invoice" button! The tool actually does more than that and you can check it out at http://www.e-helpdesk.net. It is a whole suite of tools designed for people offering services and need something to manage it.

Search Microsoft Word templates...thats where I found the one I use. They have excel version ones as well as microsoft word versions.

If you have trouble finding one PM me and I will send you a sample of one I use that you can customize.
