Lightbulb Creating a new market for Business cards!!!

HELLO HELLO. Glad to see everyone is doing well. Alright on to my point. I was sitting in class and "BooM" it hit me. Party Cards! Its like a business card, but for college students who are not in business yet.

Let's Say you are at a bar. and there is a Hottie lookin your way. rather than getting out your phone and asking for her number, you could give her a Party Card, it's like a business card.

Each person could customize there oun party card to say what they want. for an example " International Man Of Mystery" or what ever. they could pic what ever they wanted.

I can get them made for pretty cheep and delivery won't be a problem. Let me know what you guys think. Is it good? and do any of you want one? Peace!

It is a good idea and I think if developed correctly could work. How would you market the cards to your target? What prices would you charge for these? Would you be using set templates that the person can pick from or will you design each persons card specifically for them?

Just a few more questions to get you thinking :-)

I was thinking of Charging $25-35 for 250 cards. Because my market is college males i was thinking of making a little website and writing it on the bathroom stalls. I would do this because only guys would see it, and because who doesn't read the bathroom walls when they are taking the kids to the pool? On the website i would prolly have a couple set designs where they could pick from, and add what text they would like. or they could send me a pdf of a 2x3.5 card they designed themself.

Hows that? let me know. thanks BIGGYPUND!

Hi Weez,

the idea is a dud, for a lot of reasons.

Weez, you keep posting all sorts of imaginative stories, unfortunately they won't go anywhre. what you are having a problem with is called opportunity recognition. it's ok- you can correct it and then you'll start coming up with realistic venture propositions.

p.s. if you really wanna do the cards, becomme a reseller at vistaprint.com and sell their personal cards.

unrealistic venture propositions

Thanks Akula,

What’s wrong with opportunity recognition? I look at things there are, and creating a need for them in a different way. It was a thought and an idea that I was thinking could become a possibility. I post here to hear what others might think about my “unrealistic venture propositions”. But Thanks. It is an honor to have such criticism from an experienced businessman like you. I will take all your unconstructive observations to heart.

Playa cards :D

I would change the name, "party cards" sounds a bit lame. Plus from a female perspective, any guy who handed out party cards would look like a total player
How hard is it to write a phone number? I guess it would be tiring to write it more than 20X a night.
How bout renaming them 'playa cards' and selling them to guys who proudly live up to the name. For some reason I can see these cards being hot pink- with the words "Playa card" in scrolling black script at the top, followed by a cheesy picture of the person. On your site you could even have a competition on who could hand out the most playa cards, with a reward for the winner. mmm i can smell the money.
