    Hi

Is it legal to post materials that were given out by your professor online?

Look on the inside cover (or second page - after the title page) of the materials. if they are copyrighted, you will see there.

Is it legal? It depends on whether or not your professor would want to pursuit it. Its his work, not yours so legally you don't have the right to distribute it as you please.

That being said... if you're REALLY concerned about it - ask him.

    NOT LEGAL ADVICE

depending on the jurisdiction; three tests usually apply

authority - did the producer authorise the reproduction. if so, in what form and amount?

purpose - if no clear authorisation, there may be a statutory provision which allows limited reproduction depending on purpose. did you reproduce for commercial or other purposes?

volume - if no clear authorisation, there may be a statutory provision which allows limited reproduction depending on volume. did you reproduce more than 10%?

copyright law is complicated, particularly where cross jurisdictional and cyberlaw issues are concered

    NOT LEGAL ADVICE

why don't you just go and ask your professor if you can put this information online? If your planning on making money out of this information your professor will want a cut but at least you can still put it online. If your putting it for free i still think your professor will want some money for it so youll have to pay the professor to do this.

This is just based on the basic knowledge from your information you have provided us with, but your best bet is to do what MsNadi and akula mentioned as well as speak to your professor, and possibly a lawyer which akula is touching on when he is mentioning ''not legal advice''
