Exclamation Content Marketing: What is it?

I'm sure you've all heard of article marketing, but in case you haven't heard, there's another form of marketing that is becoming more and more prevalent online called "content marketing." So what exactly is content marketing?

Content marketing is all about building relationships with your customers - not just promoting your business or your brand. In other words, it's about taking information and turning it into something that customers actually look forward to receiving - something they would want to tell others about. For example, giving away an e-book for FREE would be a form of content marketing. A newsletter or blog would also be forms of content marketing, but so can an advertisement.

For example, Burger King's new "Whopper Freakout" campaign is a brilliant example of both viral and content marketing. It also has strong entertainment value. It pisses off customers, it disses competitors and it has the whole world talking about it. More importantly, Burger King is selling more Whoppers because of the campaign.

If you haven't seen it, you can check it out here:

So are any of you guys doing any form of content marketing? Care to share it with the forum?

Whopper Freakout is great. The best part is when he says at the end "do you want to talk to my boss" ...
