    concept idea, how viable?

Ok, firstly this is only an idea ( credit to a friend for the idea ).

My website is hopefully going to have summaries, reviews and comments from users about spocial networking and social networks.

What we plan to do is have a website with integrated forum.

Our concept? Well basically we have one registration for users, this then also signs them up to our forums.

The viability? Well what do you think about having a selection of network choices on the initial registration page, allowing users to select the networks they wish to join. Then that user is some how automotically signed up for the selected network they choose.

Whats the potential of this?, Could it work? and also would there be any way or chance of networks 'paying' to be on the selection list?

    Thanks

    Jake

I think I heard someone doing this a few months ago. It was like a central link to all the popular social places. Not sure how it went.

Yeah I think it could work. Contact them all, get a viable plan and sample to show them. Go for it, the worst they could say is no. Maybe someone else here would know how you could go about it...

    Goodluck!

    Hmmm interesting post there dude,

Im actually thinking that i may be taking everything way too fast. Maybe i just need to slow down and chill out a bit, hang out here for a while to get to know the whole entrepreneur scene and then see what happens after that.

Yeah thats enough im rushing into everything, and everything that wont work. So for now, its chill time

Best idea I've heard yet. Sometimes we need to take a step back and try to get an objective view of our idea.

I’ve always thought that a site that served as a portal to all networking sites (Myspace, Facebook, LynkdIn) would be a useful site. I wouldn’t begin to know how to make it happen… but I would use the portal if it existed.

I think it could be a useful service. I know there are a few others in the field, so you won't be alone.
It's definitely good to step back sometimes and get an objective point of view of your idea as Jonathan said, but then again, in today's world you can launch an idea with fairly low capital. Assuming you are fairly self sufficient and willing and eager to learn. If you have an idea that you think might have potential, go for it. Anything is possible!
