Company to Harness the Power of i-Marketing

I have an idea for a company... I currently own and operate a luxury manufacturing company and we've gone on the internet to sell our product via our website. It's taken us about 1.5 years so far and we've made many mistakes but I think we're in a good spot at the moment.

I have my employees, one in particular whose been instrumental in marketing our product on the internet. We're currently on Flickr, twitter, youtube, gotten our product listed on Amazon and other marketing websites.

Even though the luxury goods market has taken a huge hit lately due to the economy I think the lessons we've learned and experience we've had in this website could be a huge help to other online stores.

I was thinking of possibly opening an internet consulting company to help companies market their products on the internet. We would help them be on the bleeding edge of new technology that's out there, blogging, tiwtter, flickr, youtube and other commission based third party websites.

I just wanted some feedback from people to see how saturated this market is and if they've had experience in it.

I'd rather keep my other website private, hope you don't mind.

My vision for the company is for it to be an urban marketing consultant company using all the newest technologies out there whether it's using third party sites youtube to put media out there about the product. Blogging with twitter or with a company blog. Posting images on flickr. Help marketing with Google. Using third party commission based sites. Possibly getting into the mobile marketing market etc. etc. I think the experience we've gained over the past year and a half could save people a lot of time and money. We've spent in the hundreds of thousands of dollars on our site so far, I could have cut that by half if I knew what I knew today.

You can't sell your service with out showing people who you are... If you are at all serious then you need to give your web address... This isn't a bad idea (one of the few decent ones on YE lately) but you need to decide now if you are serious or not. Hiding from the world is not the way to build a sellable rep.
