Comming Soon: $10,000 Small Business Contest! - What would you need to be successful?

After two years of work I'm about to relaunch my small business consulting site. I've worked with my partners to develop a contest to kick off the launch. The Grand Prize will be $10,000 in services, goods, and capital to launch an online business. I wanted to give a break down of the prize to see what you all thought...

    $2000 in web design services
$2500 in SEO over 90 days
$2500 in Consulting services including complete business planning
    $1000 in Online advertising
    $1000 in Optimization Services
$1000 in Legal Fees for Incorporation (By *Legal Zoom)

You would basically be getting all these services from the different departments on the site...

What else would you like to see or how would you change the dispersement of money?

*All fees will be paid by the site and not by the affiliates

I think you should throw some of that toward the site inventory, depending on if it needed any. That could be used for either products or content.

We thought about that... The one thing that made us nervous was that someone could win the contest and then get the items... and disappear...

The person that wins this contest is going to have some money or else they wouldn't be the right person to do business with. We want to build the infrastructure out for them.

If I was to find the right person there is no reason I would not go to phase 2 and invest in their company after they had proven they are going to stick around...

Can you tell us more about the actual contest? Because of course I am interested, and while I don't need the web design (perhaps a very nice logo) the other rewards of winning is something that would be very beneficial.

This is more of an opportunity for you to ask questions based on the information I posted. This not the launch of the contest. I'm currently soliciting responses to the distribution of funds in the contest.

Those of us who would start an information marketing business would probably want more in online advertising...

So what would you want less of?

Myself, less consulting and SEO. I couldn't give a solid number to say how much less I'd want thinking about it now, but it would at most be a grand and a half for each of them.

Proper spelling in your thread title would lend more credence to your actually doing something. Even in the age of texting and twitter, in business first impressions still count.

I would say take 250 each from SEO and Consulting and add that to online advertising.

What kind of online business are you expecting them to want? $2,000 seems to be too little to make something great, but too much for the average site. If you have a specific type of internet business that they'll need to start, you should get some estimates on what that will cost before allocating a certain amount of money towards it.

Easy now pal. That's clearly a type-O. I don't want to see this thread explode because someone decided to be a smartass.

I've put on there a dozen or so times that I'm dyslexic.. I do not have the ability to spell correctly... Been like that my whole life. I agree with your statement... but it still evades me in most cases...

If my spelling stops someone from entering a contest for $10,000 in business assistance... well... Let's just say that won't ever happen
