    Collecting Payment from Customers

I am a fairly competent web designer and I am going to try an make a business out of it. I'm going to approach local small businesses with my services. My only question is, what is a professional and easy way of collecting payment from customers? Most of my interaction with customers will be over the phone and email and such, so what would be the best way to go about collecting payment?

Check out acceptpay.com its a new service through American Express. You can invoice right in the system and it will email you customer. Your customer can then pay with credit card or check. Its $20 a month plus fees. I love it!

    Hi Bodge4,

I just have a quick question about the AcceptPay tool. Are there net terms options on their invoice as well?

Yes, when you complete an invoice you set the terms you want.

Its free to try, so worth signing up to browse around.

We use quickbooks which emails the invoice to the customer and they usually pay by check. You can use paypal if they need to pay by CC, but almost all business' dont mind paying by check(or prefer so).
