Spent a lot of time in Vietnam during last year, and got some clothes manufactured out there in a place called 'Hoi An' it seemed to me, that this was one of the prime garment manufacturing towns in Vietnam, and the quality of some of the clothes produced here was outstanding. With regard to the fabrics, when you go to Hoi An you can see liturally hundreds of shops with thousands of fabrics, all rolled out, for you to choose and view. I would strongly suggest this town as a good starting point. However I do suppose you may find a better price in either Hanoi, or Ho Chi Minh, as Hoi An gets a lot of tourists, being so famous for tailoring, and a historical beautiful location.

Hi Brian,
I live in Australia and looking to make stylish rashies for women (swim coverups) I understand the sewing process but not the pattern making, grading etc. I only want to start out with maybe 3 designs and start small.
Firstly do you know of any well priced pattern makers in Bali or Asia who have experience with swimwear material?
What sort of costs to get a pattern made, and sample product?
Would I be better to do this in Australia first. Also I am going to Bali in September and was going to look around. Any places you suggest or where I can start.

Im sorry if these questions made sound silly but not sure where to start from.

We are a uniform Manufacturer in Sydney. we have recently lost alot of our manufacturers in China due to unions closing sweatshops. which means our legitimate big suppliers are now flooded with the closed down sweatshops work. Looking into Vietnam Cambodia and Thailand. We have our own Fabric suppliers but are in desperate need for a germant manufacturer that can CMT our garments. Hello I am new to the clothing line industry. I was looking for help with finding a manufacturer that could be able to make the clothing from my designs I have created. I am not a seamstress and I do not have patterns just the drawings for my designs.

Or are you looking to buy wholesale patterns and have them manufactured overseas?
