    Hey guys.

It is amazing to see how popular this post is.

I am an American who grew up overseas in Asia, and therefore speak fluent English and Chinese...I started Sand Shack by leveraging my fluency of chinese to manufacture apparel and jewelry in China and selling it in the US.

If you have any questions about outsourcing I would be happy to address them...I write regularly about outsourcing the production of your products to Asia on my blog Nothing to Lose - Entrepreneurial Lessons and Adventures (click on the 'sourcing' page)... You may find that of use.

If you have questions, feel free to use the information found on my above mentioned website to contact me.

    Cheers,
    Brian

It would really be more helpful if you shared a link of the clothing line (with pictures of course) so prospective contacts could have an overview.

This is a thread that has so much valuable info that I wanna keep it running. I have gotten good contacts through ebay and emailing people that are in my field. One tailor company I know is Iwearshirt.com located in Thailand. Shipping to the states was fast and transaction went smooth. Iwearbrands.com is to buy brand names.

    Materials are crucial

Those looking into it research your materials and what their properties are. There are two types of fibers in the industry right now. Natural Fibers being one and Manufactured Fibers made from chemicals. Im not sure which one is more costly though. Would someone happen have an answer to that?

I like this thread. You guys are sharing some good resources. I too have been looking to China to do some overseas production.

With so much work going that way my conscience is kind of weighing on me whether I should make the decision to go overseas or stay here.

Anyway, Paul Siragusa never takes the way out. It's not about saving money for me, it's about the integrity of my product.

    Hi everyone,

I own a sourcing consultancy that has been helping start-up and small businesses locate reliable factories in China for over two years. I have experience in all aspects of the manufacturing process, from finding the right size factory to price negociation to import procedures. In addition, I have experience with arranging confidentiality agreements to ensure brand protection. If any of this sounds interesting to you, don't hesitate to contact me as the web address below. I would be happy to chat with you.

Finally, please be careful on Alibaba.com! There are some companies listed there that are not real, but have only stolen the web address of a legitimate business. Also, because all transactions in China must be completed in cash I would advise either going through a trusted source or visiting the factory yourself before you commit any money. You will be happy you did!

    Hi!

Our company has been in the garments industry for the past 21 years. We specialize in cut & sew projects with low minimum orders. Unlike other companies, we do not just print on ready made blank shirts from stock. For every order, our clients will have the option to customize everything from the design, type of fabric, fit, labels, packaging, etc.

Please visit our website twelve-two.net for more information.

    New range of mans undies

    Hi all

Firstly I am new and I am also very new to the clothing industry.

I have an idea on paper at the moment for some new mens undies with printed designs on them I would like to know:-

Shall I start by buying some wholesale mens pants and using my computer print the designs on some iron on paper and then showing potential buyers of my product if they like or should I get them printed by a professional over here say of around 10 and then goto potential buyers and pitch?

Also should I contact manufacturers overseas to make them if I get a deal with a clothing company?

What is the usual process in this?

Many thanks, any ideas/websites would greatly help am very excited about this venture am hoping to sell in novelty shops and Anne Summers.
