classifieds or jobs in a forum

hello fellow ye's
if you had a forum and wanted to boost traffic and popularity would you incorparate a page or a sub forum section for members to
1- sell things? if so would you allow direct selling or just allow them to post theor facebook or ebay links?
2 - jobs would you allow companies to post jobs on the forum for members to view

does having any of this take away from the forum /member chat feel of a forum

It wouldn't be proper. Yes, having any of what's on your list would take away the feel of the forum.

Have you got the forum live ??? if so what is the domain.

I think it would be a page that people would choose to go to or not. I don't think it would necessarily take away from your forum but you would have to monitor what gets listed which might be a lot of work. You have to ask yourself if the extra work would add anything to your business, I think.
