    Wink Christian Business Turn-off?

I am a Christian and run my business based upon biblical principles such as: honesty, fairness, and giving. I am about to embark upon a new advertising campaign. Some of my associates are telling me to include a Christian message, others tell me that would deter business.

I believe that people would like to do business with a Christian, but I fear that strong religious advertising may turn people off.

What do you think, would you be attracted or turned-off by and advertisement with a Christian message?

Sorry but I belive that begin a christian has nothing to do with people wanting to do business with you. But just like people dont like the average "pushy sales man" , people wont take to kindly of a pushy christian trying to sell them a product using faith. Personaly im not a christain but if you had a good product and could sale me on it then great I would buy it, But if you came at me using your belifs and the word of christianity then no i wouldnt buy anything, becasue i would take you as someone who isnt open minded and simply just annoying. Just my opinion

It doesnt matter what you belive in. Personally i think that the world would be a much safe and better place without it religion.

I don't think Christianity should be a part of advertising. I personally am a christian, and I too run my business with those ethics, however, I do not feel it is appropriate to tell my customers about my beliefs. Other people are entitled to their own beliefs, and could benefit from my products. Business is business.

I will counter, though. There are many businesses that advertise the fact that they are run by Christians, and they do very well. It's just a matter of niche marketing - you must market to your identified niche, not to everyone.

I think it really depends on what you are trying to market. Is it Christian products? Bibles? If so - by all means let your beliefs be known. If not however, I would not make a point of overtly pointing out your religous beliefs in your advertising or anywhere in your business. In schools, government, and business, religion should not be included in my opinion.

    Smile Secular

One problem I see in our society today is that we place to much emphasis on politcal correctness. Further, our schools, businesses, and government has become so secularized. The United States was established by men of God, and based upon Christian values and beliefs. The day we run from our beliefs is the day we allow fear to control our lives, those that speak louder will drown our values, and we will be reduced to automatons following rules determined by those with opposing and contrary morals.
As an Entrepreneur, I escape the imperialistic business world to run my business that makes sense to my faith, beliefs, and values.
Advertising can be neutral while still expressing your values without being offensive. Everyone I know wants to do business with a person of integrity and honesty. You can advertise these values without expressing your Christian faith; believers will understand, while non-believers will respect you. Either way, your business will flourish.

Yea remember Christian principles are guidelines of proper social ettiquette, made to ensure the community works in harmony. The practice of showing honesty and integrity, however are in no way bound to the Christian faith. Therefore your religion is irrelevant. Think, will people still believe you when you say you are honest regardless if you state your religion. Stating religion holds no more weight in society than acting honest and saying nothing about it. Unless you are selling religious products as someone said before, then do not.

What a sad day when a person is Banned for asking a question that she believes in. Isn't that what this forum is all about? Asking questions and advice, supporting each other, keeping each other honest. Are we going to put up with such abuse? Voice your opinion, or you might be next.
I suspect an abuse of power by an athiest, muslim, buddist, or the like. Definitely not a Christian soul. When she comes back, I will welcome her.
    Peace.

Unless only Christians are your target market, I think it would be better not to have any references to any religion in your business. Most people won't have anything against you for being Christian, and they will buy your product if it is of good quality, but they may not want to buy it if you advertise it with a Christian message.

Not necessarily... anyone can abuse their power.
