Choosing a web designer

Just doing a bit of research and want to ask those who have ever hired or considered hiring a web designer:

What were your fears/concerns when hiring a designer?
How were these fears/concerns addressed by your web designer?
What factors came into play when choosing a web designer?
Did you have to justify using a local designer vs and over seas / outsourced designer?

Look at their portfolio. A good web design agency should have a list of portfolio for you to view. Try to look for one that is in the same industry as you and see how they design the website for them.

Also, look for testimonials. Look for a design agency that displays clients' testimonials on their website. An agency with good testimonials is a good sign that their servicing is good.

Evalute the work of a web designer, before you go in and hire one.....

In this aspect,I think Im a bit lucky to get a web designer in one of the sites online.Hes is a great guy and did a fantastic job.
There are some good professions in YE as well.If you find it difficult to find one,I can refer you to my web designer,anyway,if you are interested,of course.
