    Car Dealership

    Hello all,

Currently own a tool franchise. Ive been doing this now for 2 years. I am doing ok, but I feel that I am "capped out". I just don't see growing anymore. This business model just isn't set up for much growth.

So, I've been thinking about moving on. I have always wanted to start a Used car Dealership. I am just wondering if anyone on here has done it and what their experience was. What are the next steps. Ive worked in the service dept. of several new car dealerships so, I have a general knowledge of the car business.

    Thank you
    Bill K.

I've helped start and market numerous car dealerships as well as auto auctions and online auto auctions. Shoot me an email letting me know where you are located, tell me about your facility, do you already have a dealers license, and how much capital you have available.

Take a look at my blog Everything you need to know about auto auctions, vehicle donations, non-profits, and the life of an entrepreneur and read some of the posts to the auto auction section as well

Question. What is a better way to go a used car dealer ship or a new car dealership, or a new and used car dealership?

A new car dealership will require a much higher initial investment. They will require an expensive building and a large inventory. Also, you will be required to have a service dept. with qualified technicians and a well stocked parts dept. Plus you have to have a staff to run all that. Im just looking to start a nice little dealership and grow from there.

It is not that hard. Just start it up, get something to sell, location is very important (be near big roads), advertise what you have to sell in as many places as possible. People and calls will come. We can get you on top of Google if you need
