I am "green" entrepreneur from Toronto(Ontario), interested in clean technology, alternative energy sources, and greening up of businesses and households. I see a HUGE potential in "Green trend" and I strognly believe it will boom bigger than the Internet did. Now is the right time to get in,not only humangous opportunity to profit, but to make something VALUEABLE for the planet. We have to think BIG

I'm in the province that has the highest tax rate in North America. Green tech is definitely an interesting opportunity. I don't know about "saving the planet" because the planet will still be here whether global warming (is this what you're referring to?) meets the computer models or not. Perhaps saving those that can't deal with the costs of a changing environment and migration.

In any case as an investor I'm more interested in ROI. It may sound callous but it is true. As long as the money can flow out of green tech I'll be keeping my ear to the ground for opportunities and if it's environmentally friendly at the same time all the better.

Since you're from Ontario you might be interested in a biodiesel. A few companies in your province are in the process of being listed.

    Here's the article.

As long as Ontario regulates that gasoline has to be 5% ethanol there will be demand for the product. Then again the concept is still a risk as I'm not sure whether they can control the costs associated with their process. Again, there are other risks such as C$ parity which will drive more competition such as ADM and that Ontario will decide not to regulate ethanol content. Just some things to consider.

I am from BC myself. I think recycling and going green would definitely go big like you said. However, if you don't have the big bucks to support most initiatives, I think the only way to start is to go the consulting route. With that, you have to know your stuff... or at least more than the next guy.

I'm from Windsor Ontario. After getting an 1100$ power bill for the gaming centre, I looked into alternative energy sources. Unfortunately I can't fit 300 solar panels on my roof

I'm from Vancouver as well and truly believe the "green", environmentally friendly, mindest is going to be huge in the near future. I had worked for a company called Hazco Remediation for a summer job during high school and seeing how well they are doing now I will defenetely be investing in the environmental industry.

As for what I do. I am a beginning real estate investor and looking to start up a RE company in Vancouver, BC. The company will not begin until after I have made some progress with my own personal RE investments however it is not to far in the future. The investments I am looking into will be resedential (probably apartments) to start with as the "rent:cost" ratio is within reach for me. Anyone else doing RE in Vancouver or Canada in general?

Greenup, I am interested in what sort of technology you make/what companies that you invest in make. My parents just bought this composter for like 2000$ and are starting to research env. friendly solutions to everyday problems. One thing I have noticed is that the baby boomer era is beginning to see the problems with alot of the technology they created back in the day. They have lots of money to spend on things like composters for 2000$. What demographic do you look for when marketing environmentally friendly equipment?
