Can you get an assumed name at 15?

I plan on starting a business selling GPSs, fish finders, VHF marine radios and the like on Ebay. I will need a DBA, sales and use tax number(sellers permit), and a local business license. Can I file the DBA in my name or will I have to do it in my parents name? If the later is true, can I transfer it to me when I turn 18 or will I have to dissolve the company and start over?

    Thanks,
    Gray

I know in NY it can be in your name, but your parents do have to sign, although it is in your name.

I was able to get a local license and file a dba in my name without a parents signature here in Alabama and I was 15.

Thanks for the advise. I've got a friend who's an attorney and he seems to think I can't get a DBA at my age. I guess I'll get my dad to file and transfer it to me when I turn 18.

    Yea

It'll work out....but I hate having my business accounts under my parents name...if I came up with a business my name should be on the account holding my money but is he sure about you not being able to get one at your age?

I know what you meen...I don't like the idea and neather do my parents.

I don't think that he was 100% positive. I've emailed my regester of deeds and asked her the same thing.

EDIT-the regester of deeds emailed me back and said I can file it in my name makes me feel better.
