    what do you mean "start"?
in my experience..greenfields operations (as opposed to acquisitions) just kind of develop naturally..i don't think there is a "start" date
i do agree however that greenfields by their nature are difficult
this is why alternative modes of market entry might be more suitable for some people..

I think I understand what you mean. In my opinion, the hardest part of starting a businesses is that very first step. It's in between the "idea" and the "momentum". Your Startup Can try this article for some more help. It doesn't deal directly with getting started, but it may keep you (or someone else) from failing.

It's taking initiative, having the guts, and just DOING it. Ideas are a dime a dozen, DOERS are rare.

100 % agree with you. Taking the initiative is like breaking the Mount Averest with a hammer.

from some things ive looked into recently, there are plenty of ways to get the money that you need...heck sometimes you may end up not needing "money"...you just need to think a little harder, research, and get your *ish* together

I think one of the biggest barriers to success in any situation, even business, is not having passion or interest for the subject, right? We are forced to learn things in school that seldom interest us. We are forced to work for companies that seldom interest us or even care about us. Why? When people start to follow their passion(s), things that turn them on at the mere thought of it, they begin to manifest success naturally. What is it that you can work on for hours? That is what will turn into success no matter how small or big. Good luck!

Yeah soccerprodigy, I agree with your statement and am of the opinion that in the time of need, it is hard to locate money but when you don’t need it, you may have loads of bucks available. Is there any logic in it?

I have also this mind that if you work against your natural talent you will surely get success but not the satisfaction.

    Final Conclusion of the discussion

Thanks for sharing your ideas, going to figure out the end result.

I have now realized that the lack in willpower and then not working truly hard on the idea are the first and huge obstacle to start the venture.
