Can someone give me the lowdown on the t-shirt business

I've done a lot of research on the net. However, I still would like more information. How do you guys feel about this business?

The markets saturated and their are very-low margins. Dont get into unless you have found a serious niche or are selling to corporations.

How does one usually present their ideas to coporations? And would I have to get a patent before I present my ideas (to protect my ideas from being stolen)?

First, what is your form of producing the T's. Do you own or operate screenprinting equipment, heat transfer equipment, embroidery machines?

In my point of view a good idea would to make bulk uniforms for sport teams...
like sell them in singles but if buy like 10 its cheaper and if you buy 20 its cheaper, etc...
make like hockey, football, etc of jerseys and if you get a sport groups to order from you and stick with you, you could make alot of money...
