So I called up one of those currency exchange places today to place an order to 50,000 CNY in hard currency. I figured the rate online was 6.79 per USD so I would be looking at 6.50 maybe. As I'm completing the order they tell me the rate is 5.70 per USD which is 16% above market value. I've never heard of craziness like this. Does anyone have an International Broker who can get me better rates on a hard currency purchase?
