Buying a Photocopier

I recently purchased a high end photocopier and we talked too a couple salesman.

About 3 hours after we bought it the other company we had been talking too dropped by and I couldn't believe how incredibley rude their salesman where.

They saw the quote I had signed earlier in the day, told me to rip it up, shred it and they would beat the price by $80/mo. I laughed and said you don't even know what I bought.

After about 20 mins of trying to get them to leave I finally told them, stop waisting your and my time and go away. What drives people to want to do sales in an industry like this?

I don't know if it's fair to blame the industry. I think that was more a reflection of that company and their sales people.

Some people are indeed too pushy but then again, some people don't know how to say no. Considering it takes a couple of objections initially to make a sale, I don't see these guys backing down too readily.

Was there product that bad that you didn't want a $80 discount?
