...you know -- the greivance and announcement methods used in this thread would be a lot easier on the eyes if conducted in a timely 'live-chat'/town meeting - and then archived in notes (so interested parties could read the results).

I'm too new to *both* forums to comment much - but for the sake of analogy this is like being a kid witnessing a heated arguement between a distant father who works all the time (owner/mods), and a mother who helps out daily (influential members, new friends, etc).

...kinda sucks...

Question...

Couldn't you just block Jeff's ability to PM? There's a peaceful solution...

Comment...

Adam, everything you say sounds so scripted, right out of a cheesy 1975 customer service book. These are young entrepreneur's trying to give you suggestions or feedback on how you run your site, be real with them - speak their language. This whole thread sounds like a vocabulary pissing match between employees and a boss who thinks he's too educated for his shirt.

If your supposedly soon-to-be-here podcast/vidcast sounds anything like your posts, god help us.

I sent a pm and got a reply straight away from bizguy the other day so can’t really complain about them not replying to messages.

The problem here seems to be the lack of posts from the admin. There are either three reasons for this:
1. They don’t give a toss (I doubt or they wouldn’t have built this thing)
2. They don’t have anything to add to the conversations/threads.
3. They don’t have time due to working on other parts of the site.(I also doubt)

There is one solution:

1. Admins do more posts. Even just welcoming new members will get you more posts.

I feel that there are some good posters on this forum and get the feeling they will leave soon if these issues aren’t addressed.

Oh yeah and I doubt they will sell this site.

Does anyone wanna review this? It's a case study for how to build a successful online forum....apparently it's good but I just haven't had the time to listen to it.

I'll take a look at it, Akula. I've been meaning to start up a forum, but haven't the idea on where to start. If this is what it says, then hopefully we'll see a start up soon. I'll let you know after checking it out.

ye!

Obviously, the YE staff doesn't want you to leave, but geez, if you don't like it then leave.

You have handed out more greif to these guys then they deserve. We all get busy. We all don't have enough time. Obviously they have put forth the effort in this thread. Give 'em the benefit of the doubt.

And for the record, if some jerk was on my web site forum stealin my customers and performing the dirty unethical tactics Jeff was, I'd ban em too.

Even though it took some flak, I think Ferry had the smartest post of them all:

"Shut this fkn thread down, for fuks sake."

Amen brother. Give me a break you bunch of whiners.
