en·tre·pre·neur –noun Entrepreneur, translated from its French roots, means "one who undertakes." The term Entrepreneur is used to refer to anyone who undertakes the organization and management of an enterprise involving independence and risk as well as the opportunity for profit.
yes, but it's more about stock market than business. but film worth to watch just because of speech of one of the managers speaking about moking money, his ferrari and house
also there was a film about kids accepting sport bets - Gamers or something like that.
1) Startup.com - one of the best documentaries ever. Like The Smartest Guys in the Room, very much a people story with a business background.
2) The Corporation and Roger & Me: definitely slanted by anti-business tendencies, but still worth watching.
I just watched the Enron documentary as well. It was fascinating to see how they totally lied to everyone...sick...anyway.
Wall Street is a classic..Gordon Gecko
Other People Money with Danny Devito wasn't that good but his speech at the end of it was really almost inspiring...because he had to persuade the stock holders to vote for the buy out.
Biographies are the best....you just have to really turn to books for those.
There is just such a small market about business stories and success in movies because everything today has to be so hollywood...I mean you saw how the Enron movie was done.
Look back on the A&E website...Biography...and TLC are all good sources as well.
search the internet for Brilliant Compensation you can even watch a flash animation version of it online I think. Will teach you alot about diff. business models why they work and why they don't. Very informational if you hate or like network marketing.
I strongly recommend this movie to all entrepreneurs.
I would love to talk about the guys views and whether they are valid or not. I watched it and was impressed but unless you get the information from 3 sources how can you know for sure whether or not its valid info. All sounds very logical though. Would exspecially like to hear Akula's thoughts on this guys views.
A) already mentioned...
----- Startup.com 2001 - as stated above - a 'must-see' business flick... already a little dated (post-boom) - but extremely topical for all of us.
B) semi-business cautionary truthiness (stretched non-fiction)...
----- Rogue Trader 1999 - what happens when aggressive business styles get out of hand when gaps and loopholes in policy present themselves. A true story.
----- Owning Mahowny 2003 - what happens when monetary addiction becomes influenced by resource availability. Another true story.
C) drama in business (all fiction)...
----- Glengarry Glen Ross 1992 - 'Always Be Closing' -- nuf ced.
