    Business in Dubai

If you dont know already, Dubai is crazy now days for business. I have been there twice and I can definitley get a sense of the lifestyles people live over there.

Was wondering if anyone has thought of or even considered doing business over there. Tons of opportunities out there.

I actually have ya. there is a ton of money over there due to oil. I havent looked into the details much yet however, and there is a definate language barrier which one would need to overcome.

I dont think having a translater would be a godo route unless your selling something very specific or they come looking for you it would be a better idea to have an actual employee that is from dubai and speaks/reads/writes fluently in the common language which I am not sure but i believe is arab.

Maybe approaching the language barrier would be something to look into for profit

yeah but now days most business in dubai is completed in english.....based on my experience there, but speaking arabic would be a plus. I know a few friends over there that know the language so i guess what better person to translate and work with you than your friends.

My dad wants to do business over their but he is really trapped here. He is working at a steel factory just to keep up with the bills ect and ya he is retired.

He told me in 2000 that. Dubi will be booming with business. He said that it was being really invested by the U.S to build it up to be another hong kong.

So it's going to be a big area for business many many business and jobs in that area.

My dad hasn't been their since 1968 when he was their he said there were jobs and stuff but it wasn't big as it was today. My dad would really like to start a business over their but he said that he has to first scout the area becuse he dosen't know how much it changes since all these years.

What's the main language spoken there? I figure there's a bunch.

I have been told that at the moment dubai is an architects dreamland, as you can design any kind of fancy shape building and build it there. I was told that this is because Dubai's oil is running out, so the governments economy-backup-plan is to turn Dubai into a huge tourist resort; therefore lots of amazing shaped hotels are being put up. Does anyone know any more about what I just mentioned ?
