business ideas for a shipping store

I am opening up a contract postal unit which is a branch of the US post office in a retail business complex. I am trying to figure out what I should sell. Some of the ideas I have conjured up are business services such as faxes, scanning, copies, internet time etc. I also want to sell coffee and sodas, stamps and shipping supplies. I also had an idea to sell people stuff on ebay such as doing consignment. Does anyone have any good ideas of some other stuff I can sell such as products or services in this store I am planning to open up soon

You do not say where you are, but if you are in the US, you may consider selling mail forwarding to other countries. There are many people looking for a mail drop sort of website, where there is a legal USPS forwarder, as well as a package consolidator who will take delivery of several parcels and put in one larger box for export by courier or Priority.

You're ideas sound good. I like peteVA's suggestion for international shipping. The business services are a good idea. And of course the E-bay. We have a very similar store in my town. They also sell greating cards and shipping supplies (boxes, bubble wrap). So it think it's very much like what you plan to do. They also offer ink / toner and other office supplies.

I would keep to the niche of shipping and business needs. Though offering free coffee might be a great way to set yourself apart.

i am assuming that you probably have some competition in your area. if this is the case you should look into working with some of the local schools to pickup their items for free. They do massive amounts of volume and would appreciate anyone saving them some time. maybe someone already picks up their stuff but if there has been any issues, you may be able to get the go ahead.
