    Business Climate

    Hello

I haven’t posted in a while kind of lost the buzz for being an entrepreneur in the current climate but I think its coming back I can’t help myself, I understand that you have to start small and build up your businesses but I am finding it hard to get them off the ground, my interests include music and technology and multimedia I have been trying to find ways of making hopefully some millions in these industries, I have to say that I am still living at home so is it really possible to achieve such success in the current climate and my situation.

Any advice welcome is anyone on here from West Yorkshire in England.

    Thank you

    FYI only:
as u r interested in Music, u can find someone who can sing very well and be his/her agent-some people in China do this and becomes very rich.

I can still remember Paul Potts-who became famous after attending the American Idol!

Absolutely! Three important things to remember though.

    #1, you've got to have a plan
    #2, the commitment to action
    #3, you can't give up

First thing to do.. change your thinking... law of attraction?

    YouTube - The Secret: 1st 20 minutes

YouTube - The Strangest Secret in the world - Earl Nightingale

Of course realism is important. But every situation can be perceived negatively or positively and still be realistic.

After you learn to think in a more positive way, realize the current "climate" is THE PERFECT opportunity to start a business...

Innovating Through Recession (Andrew Razeghi, Kellogg School of Management)

And once you make those two connections practice them! Keep them in front of your nose. Remember you have to train yourself to see things right. Next, you live at home? I assume you are relatively free of debt and expenses then? If so that is PERFECT! Reinvest a ton of money back into your business... especially in advertising/selling (like mentioned in above article)

After your 'possibility attitude' is flipped work on flipping your 'learning attitude'. Everything that didn't perform as you wanted is simply an opportunity to discover/learn what can be more effective.

Good luck. It takes work. It's is totally worth it. And you can do it!

Pick a project... just one.. give it everything you have.. I mean everything.. 80 hours a week 6-7 days a week. Live it... breath it... and you'll succeed... loose focus and you'll loose money... thats the best advice I can give you!

I know this wasn't directed at me, but this is great advice, and it's just what I needed to hear regarding a project that I've been working on. Thanks!

You can't let the economic environment keep you from pursuing your entrepreneurial dreams. These type of conditions are worsened by emotion and fear, and while this climate can be demotivating, we need to remain optimistic and persistent.

The early stages of business can be especially difficult due to all the hard work you put in, with little profit as a reward. However this environment provides the perfect opportunity to test your mettle and if you can be optimistic and persistent in this environment, you'll be optimistic and persistent in any other environment and that will strengthen your entrepreneurial resolve immensely.

To answer your question, it certainly is possible to achieve success with your situation and this climate. Just pick a business, and start putting yourself out there. You may not make money right away, but you'll learn a lot and experience other successes right away--be it making contacts finding prospects, learning more about whatever industry you are in, etc...you will experience plenty of other things that are preambles to profits that you otherwise wouldn't experience if you hadn't put yourself out there.

Good luck in making the first step, and just try to remember to stay positive and dont give up.

I agree this climate is perfect for starting a business. It will be difficult but it's important to stay focused on you goal. You have to research, and learn as much as you can. Visualization is a very useful tool. See where you want to be, and what you want to achieve. Be persistent.
    Good Luck

I still see great opportunities around, in spite of the market. If you subscribe to the mentality of the millions that think times are rough, then, you might be blocking yourself from seeing the light.

I would probably choose one of the three industries you've mentioned and make it work. As you start getting experience in that area, you may want to choose the next venture. I think you'll get more when you direct your energy on a single direction. Sometimes it takes a very disciplined person (no offense, but, by your posting it seems that you need to improve in this area), to tackle many ventures and get them all going successfully, otherwise, you'll find yourself at hand with many things and not completing a single one of them.

The gift that keeps on giving to me is joining a local technology organization, attending their meetings, subscribing to their mailing list and every now and then volunteering for presentations of topics of my interest. I've quadruple my earnings with this simple concept.
