    Brilliance Needed: Entertainment Ideas

Ok everyone, I need you all to brainstorm for me. I am in the process of coming up with a few good ideas for business' in my city. We have just grown huge amounts within our Real Estate and have a great market of middle class people.

I really like the city, I just have one problem. There is nothing to do here for entertainment!!!!

This is where you all come in. We have plenty of people (100K) to market to ranging from three major high schools to a large retired group. I need ideas of successful business' in your area in the entertainment industry. I think the city will continue to grow, yet there is nothing to do for entertainment, especially at night (but I don't want to only limit it to night time entertainment).

Shoot me some ideas. If you have a few ideas that are new, feel free to tell me about those too. I also want to know what is successful in your area!

We already have a small mall, semi-enough shopping, a small bowling alley, etc.

    THANKS ALL!

    Lincolnf

Survey people in your city with all your ideas and see which ones get the highest votes.

    Night clubs
    Lan Centers
    Roller Skate
    Fitness center
    Arcade
    Shopping center
    skate park

List could go on for days....

i live in a rather large city just outside of Dallas, which is a huge city with all kind of entertainment.

But for those of us that don't want to drive an hour out to Dallas to have some fun, we go to the Pool Hall. Every highschool kid in my area is at some pool hall on the weekends. They must be making a killing.

They charge about $10 an hour to play on a pool table and also serve drinks and food. It would probably cost alot of money to open up your own pool hall, but i guarantee it would be a highly profitable investment. Atleast down here, where im from : )

Underground casino. In a small town like that you can pay off the police.

Lan center is a bunch of computers hooked up. Either you can market it as a gaming place or an internet cafe or both w/e.
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.

My friend had the same problem in his town. So he started a very successful club named after his region (won't mention the name). He would also do gigs with sound and lighting equipment and DJ parties. If your'e a DJ you can make loads, equipment will cost you like 15 grand though for everything.

He did this when he was 16.

Lol.. I do work at the casino. If you're going to do anything illegal like that, you might as well be a drug dealer and work your way up to supplier or manufacturer and ruin your life hahah? Sorry.. just joking

Pool halls are cool place to chill out with friends.. but the costs of buying good playable pool tables... comes in tens of thousands in total. How about a gaming area where people can play computer games and even playstations, x box etc.. I dont know lol

I would suggest you not do the lan center idea. In a town of 250K we've had about 3 different gaming places like that in the past 6-10 years. And they usually did not have a lot of business.

If you think about it, it has a really high startup fee. Computers (high end, ~40-50), fast internet connection (in our area, its HIGH, ~$500/month), electric bill (running 50 computers 24/7) and then pay the 2 man staff as well. Unless you expect a lot of business, I don't see a great ROI with this idea.
