Breakfast Club and Snow Removal Advice

I want to start a breakfast club where students (in highschool) can have a chance to get a nice meal before class. They don't have to worry about making their own stuff.

Another idea is a snow removal.
Can someone give me advice on a good way to charge people. For example charge yearly, monthly, or per visit. How much etc.

And im only going to be managing it, I'll have several people from different neighbourhoods snow blowing in their areas.

How much do snow blower rentals cost usually

Could someone give tips and advice. Thanks

I thought schools already had a breakfast plan. If your school doesn't have one already, shame on them. I say go for it!!! You may start a new thing in Canada. School breakfast is very popular at schools in the usa.

As for the snow removal. It would be good to get some accounts that you pay regular visits to. But you may be better off charging by the visit and how much snow fell. Otherwise you may screw yourself. You never know how often it will snow. What if it doesnt snow for a few weeks? Then the customer will feel screwed over.

I went to High School long time ago. As I recall I ate my breakfast at home made by my mom Why would I drive somewhere to eat a breakfast. Also keep in mind many students don't have their own transportation so a school bus is picking them up

As for snow remova, lots of ladnscape companies offer that service. Open up your yellow pages /section Landscape and see who's offering snow removal service. Call them up and ask for a quote to get a feeling what are the prices in your arena for such service.

this breakfast club would be base inside of the school. many parents dont have time to make breakfast for their children, and kids are just too lazy to make anything.

it's also something for students to look forward to. everyday i see a huge lineup infront of the office because of being late.

heres my plan for the snow removal thing. please tell me if it's a good idea or if you can improve or change.

it just snowed today and i'm going to drive around to see who hasn't shoveled the snow. i'll drop a few flyers in different neighbourhoods.

i also want to call a few houses. is there any system on the internet that allows you to find someones phone number?

I hope your "snow team" aren't high school students who need to go to school. I would think people who need snow shoveled would have this done early in the morning.

Call rental companies to get a gauge on your equipment rental fees. Also call around for prices to study the range of the services and set your prices there.

If you are driving around now, why not stop and knock on the doors. Have your shovels packed in your car and offer the service right there and there?

    Just a few suggestions.

You need to do the work before you can expect anyone else to do the work. You need to know what is involved, how to communicate with customers, and how to handle problems. Snow removal is hard work, but can be profitable. I would say go out there and do it completley yourself for a month. Find out what it takes and how much $ you can make. You'll be better able to build a business around experiance instead of an idea.

What type of snow removal: shovel, snow blower, plow? Where are you located?

Watch out for renting your equiptment. It may be good for the first couple weeks but you will find that it would be much more profitable to finance the blowers over a few years. When I mowed lawns we looked to rent a commercial mower and within one season of renting we could own the same mower which was $3500. We financed the mower over a year, with a really low interest rate from the dealer. It saved us alot of money in the long run, and we had a piece of equiptment of our own.
*Also after large storms many people go to the hardware store and buy a blower, and return it after the storm. My brother got a $1200 self-propelled blower for $850 on account of this, and it was used for only one weekend. The warranty was still offered, and if he wished he could still finance it. One way to save some money.
