Blogging and Registering a Company for It

Hi all,

I am about to start blogging and hope to get some income from the blog. Assuming that in the beginning I would only get income from ads on the site, would I still need to register a company for it (it probably will be pocket change in the beginning... literally)?

Dafung,

There's no need to register a company unless you want it to be a limited liability company. You can simply trade as a sole trader. I wouldn't worry too much to begin with, but if you start to earn a bit of money from it you will need to fill out a tax return. All this advice is based on the assumption you are in the UK.

With regard to advertsing incom, we have recently set up our company website and are using adsense. We are doing much better out of it than expected so if you want some tips have a look at our website and in particular the ad placement.
