There is traffic to be had in every niche. It doesn't matter what your blog is about. Do what interests you, make it a quality product, and you will get the traffic.

Honestly, I cannot see anyone deciding to start a blog to make a substantial income, although it could evolve into a source of money.

Well, good traffic will come from quality content, so create a blog on something you are sure you are able to provide quality content on.

Start up a blog about dating or dating related websites. It has an "excellent" CTR for Adsense. Some niches have a terrible CTR even if the information in your blog is good.

You should start a blog to build your business rep. If it eventually makes money.. then fine.. you need a place to talk about your experiences and to convince people you know what you are doing in the business world.

This is key. You gotta do what you like or else your content will suffer and if content suffers you will not get any hits. Then you don`t make any coin. Not to mention it is boring.

You can make any blog work. Your question is like asking, "What kind of restaurant makes the most money?" There are restaurants in every niche that suck and close down, and restaurants in those same niches that are making bank.

It's what you make it. Do a blog about what interests you. If you are passionate about it, it will show in the quality of the content.

It doesn't matter what segment you're in - you define the income potential, there is not really any niche with more potential because you are dealing with the Internet - hundreds of millions of people. With numbers like that, potential for any major topic is all the same.

The best blogs in what some would consider "lower value" niches make more money and get more traffic than mediocre blogs in "high value" niches.

You also have to consider what the purpose of the blog is for. Are you trying to promote another business or do you want to make money through Adsense and affiliate programs?
