    Blog Experts-Much help needed!

I want to set up an online blog focusing on Rugby around the world. However, I have lots of Rugby contacts and want to have a radio segment on the blog for live broadcasts and Q&As with famous rugby players, pundits, coaches etc. I was hoping to do one on a thursday or friday before the weekends action and one on the Monday after the weekends action with other days being filled in with the occasional rant etc. How would I go about doing this?

What I want for the Radio segment is to have a section where listeners can ask questions via a chat room which can then be asked and answered. What software would be needed to do this if needed?

Finally, what would I need to set up the blog itself. I take I'd need a host, domain, wordpress? or should I use blogger.com? Any general blog setup ideas would be great thanks.

So I hope you can help me!

    You need wordpress found at:

    www.wordpress.org

Then just customise it to your liking i.e. mods and styles... pretty easy

just to elaborate on the wordpress recommendation, they offer a specific plug in for your needs which will make it easy to do a podcast. to record the podcast your gonna need a mic, and a piece of software you can get by doing a simple search on the net...search for "audacity"...this will allow you to mix and add sound. to set up a chat room just use aol, or any number of chat offerings.

you'll likely need a hosting service and a domain name with wordpress for your site.

ok, great, well - at hotbusinessblog.com we have an advanced blogging solution which is better than the other guys. please see http://www.hotbusinessblog.com/Features_Overview to compare us with Wordepress, Blogger etc..

(apologies for the messy site, we're just remodelling)

I can send you a project plan, and we can agree on a time line to get you up and running with all of the features you're looking for.

I think this a great option for you because you're will benefit from personalised service so you don't have to learn everything from scratch and can focus on what you really enjoy - talking with people about Rugby rather than trying to figure out how CSS and Ajax works.

Do you want me to send you a draft plan so we can start this dialogue?

I will agree will Scott with the Wordpress recommendation but i wouldnt shut Blogger out because of customization reasons.

I use both depending on my hosting needs.

If you need a blog service thats 100% free then blogger is the way to go.
They have a built in google adsense plug-in and adding other ads wont be a problem. Its completely hosted by google.

These are two of my blogs. I wont tell you which on is wordpress and which one is blogger.

(spoiler: the answer will be at the bottom of the page)

Here are a couple of sites with customized templates for blogger.
