If you want to sell your product to a retail store, they probably want to be able to scan it with a barcode scanner. So how do you get a barcode onto your product packaging? Can you just buy some barcode tags and stick it on there?
Thanks

As I know, you need to have a barcode generator....

Yeah...you need to buy a barcode printer, or a program that will print them from your computer...thats what I use. You type in all the info, and it sets up the barcode for you, and them prints them our from your printer on address label.

Wrong and wrong.
Almost every retailer is going to require you to have a Universal Product Code (UPC). You must register this with the GS1, the organization responsible for maintaining all UPC's in the US and Canada.

Thank you. I was afraid I was going to have to google this question so that I could point them to the correct organization.
From a physical aspect, though, most software (word processing, graphic, even spreadsheet) can create a barcode for you if you've got the correct font installed.
