Bar Codes?

I have a warehouse and there is an old inventory system in it. i am looking to upgrade it. Does anyone know how to do this or does anyone have experience with a barcode system? thanks

My uncle is the president of City Lighting and they have a very large inventory of items. They deliver items from their warehouse as well as recieve orders from suppliers. All of the shipping pallets are barcoded with labels upon entering the warehouse. There are mobile scanners that you program the product detail into and you track inventory from this device. There scanner has a wi-fi card which communicates with a computer program that tracks your inventory. If you deliver products you can also give scanners to your drivers that operate on a cell phone type wireless network. The system is very efficient and you can check your inventory from anywhere from your laptop. You can also program your warehouse into the computer application and make sectors where items are located so finding them is much easier. Just google barcode system and you will get many companies that can provide these systems. It seemed very efficient, and the barcode scanner is a fun thing to play with.
