average price for t shirt printing?

im looking for a printer in NYC US. to print my designs for shirts. and i was wondering how they would charge me so i wouldnt get ripped off. im looking at heat transfer since im starting

what do u mean by everything included. how many colors were in there?

I cannot comment on heat transfers, but for 2-3 color plastisol screen prints on standard Gildan Heavy Cotton tees with screen printed tags in the neckline, I paid roughly $7 per shirt for about 50 shirts. Obviously, with higher quantities, the price per shirt would be significantly less.

For low quantity orders, is it better to have the t-shirts made locally (US) or abroad somewhere?

the price in US is really very high! I know some American companies buy the heat transfer machines from China and that is: China can do that either and the price is much much more competitive.

Look into your local high school's graphic arts program.
A few years ago, the printing club would charge roughly $2.00 per shirt, plus $1 per color per side. The shirts were cheap because the school had a bulk discount because of how many it printed.
