    autoresponders...

autoresponders a re good ways to get your customers back to your site...I have seen sites that have pop ups requiring the user to enter their emaill address to gain access to the site such as therichjerk.com - and others gives you the options - now forcing to join a mailing list is that such a good idea? should it be optional to the user as long as the content is good? or should I annoy the user with a pop up script on the page - and have them either force them to sign up or as an option - I have it on my frontpage as an option - which I think is a good idea - but not a lot of subscribers. Also where is a good site to find good auto responder articles?

Personally, I would not enter the site if i had to sign up to a newsletter before entering.

I think it all depends on how badly you need that information.
