    Asset Management

I am curious to see what others would do in my position. This is something that I don’t really talk about with many people. I figured the internet would be a good place to pose the question and this forum seems as appropriate as any. Now a little background about me.

I am in my mid twenty’s. Thanks to a small inheritance of land left by my grandmother 6 years ago I have amassed real estate holdings valued at around $30 million. I currently have loans of about $10 million on these various tracts of land. I also have about $5 million in liquid assets such as stocks, short term investments in a friends internet business (paying 12%), cash, etc….

Just curious as to what everyone here would do if you were in this position. I figure I could probably liquidate everything and just live off the returns but that is not what I want to do. I would like to find some way other than real estate to put my assets to work.

Depends what you are interested in. Are you you interested in different types of investment vehicles? Debt investing, equity investing?
If you have an interest in entrepreneurship, which I suspect you do since you are here, you can always do some angel investing or invest institutionally.
What are your goals? And more importantly, what do you like to do and how would you like to see your money invested? Are you looking to retain some control over what the money is invested in, or are you just looking for a strong return from a professional?
