Thanks a million for posting those great links, akula!
dre, has a good point. I learned about this a while ago and I have personally tested it and it works.
For example I just recently created my personal site to promote some of the things that I do and drive some traffic to my business sites.
I launched the site about two weeks ago and top the google rank within 2 days. I try to write daily.
archiebolo, so you can get an idea read one of the articles that I wrote about my meeting with a painter who was interested in one of my web applications.
http://www.jgari.com/?q=node/15
The article looks simple, but there is a great deal going on:
1. I'm already selling a calendar for this painter, so the article links to the calendar.
2. I'm telling the reader about some of the services that I offer, so I link to my services website, GariDigital.com
3. For those that do not know me, I include a mini-bio, where I also link to my services website.
4. I wrote this article on January 17, but you do a search on google for "Garifuna painter" my site comes up #1
5. When you do a search on google for "Greg Palacio" which is the name of the painter, his site comes first, the site where I sell his calendar comes second, and the site where I published the article comes third

. The painter's followers are very likely to search for this term.
6. searching for "Garifuna calendar" on google, brings my site where I sell his calendar and because I'm linking to that page from the article, it only improves the ranking for the product.
I hope this makes some sense to you.
Gotch, I really love this board. There are so many great people to share information with
