Are you in business for profits, passion or a little of both?

I am curious what drives new/young entrepreneurs to start a business. I know we are hearing a lot of doom and gloom in the news about the economy but small businesses are doing well. What drove your to start your business?

Both! I want to gain freedom and flexibility of schedule so i can follow other interests. I chose to start a lifestyle business but as i do that, produce products based on semi-passive income.

    Depends how deep you dig.

My drive was for freedom from my job. But in order to have freedom I needed capital. So money became my driving factor. And helped me achieve my goal.

But after that it became about so much more. It became about helping empower others, and the passion of helping those passionate entrepreneurs achieve their financial goals so they could have the time freedom and lifestyle they desired.

Love to hear what drive u in your business.

Everyone needs a WHY that drives them. Without that sense of purpose your headed no where.

Both! As long as I can support myself pursuing my passions I'm content. Not saying I wouldn't love to be making millions a year pursuing my passions, but as long as I can do both and live, I'm fine.

i love the idea of starting a business and here's why:
i love creativity and new ideas. and i love making people happy by letting them have fun. everyday as i get closer to my goal brand new ideas come to me that could probably change the way our children and our grandchildren will think. if your dream is in real estate or something that includes building. you probably have the same feeling that i do

    Kameron-
Thanks for your response. I agree that an entrepreneur needs to find their "why" and be passionate about it. I also started a business based on passion in hopes of freedom from a traditional job. Now that I have built a successful business, I am driven to help others do the same. I took a look at your site. We have a lot in common. Thanks for sharing!

I can almost assure most people begin with one thing in mind, having the opportunity to own something and claim something as YOURS. Not having a boss and all the things that come with owning a business are also a plus. But after a while I dare say most people turn it into a passion. Because in order for you to spend long hours trying to make something happen, you must have a passion for it.
