    Thumbs up

    Greetings,
A mobile entrepeneur making money from mobile users here in the UK. Hows That!
We operate sms text competitions, take a look @ www.winwatches.co.uk
I understand the concept has yet to take off in the US so want to be in at the start, currently negotiating for US shortcodes.
Is there anybody out there already doing something similar, if so let's talk.
    Regards
    Neil

Although I can't say that I am currently one, I have been thinking about it for some time... I am just looking for the cheapest and easiest way to do it. Should I just take my laptop with me wherever I go? Or should I get a blackberry? I haven't had a chance to really study it, price it out, and determine the best way to do it...Any advice is welcome!

    Mobile Entrepreneur for Sure!

I am currently a Blackberry 8703e user. I can stay connected with business emails, texts, etc. Blackberry applications & business solutions make it easy to be mobile. It also eliminates the use of pen & paper. Blackberry ensures mobile productivity. You may get addicted to though.

Yep, I am as well. I also have a neat feature which sends a message to my cell every time an order is placed.

How's that work, I'd like that to happen myself......

is it a feature I could use with oscommerce, or is it unique to your cart system?

im a mobile entrepreneur on my laptop. i post up about 50 auctions via ebay daily and i sell digital goods so therefore i don't provide any labor shipping or handeling-wise. but usually i do this at home unless im on the go and i might stop by at a local starbucks to use their tmobile wifi.

I have a burning question for truckers.

How much do they make a year?

My friends say its $100,000 a year, but I am skeptical.

It's pretty fun. It was a custom plug-in build for my cart system, but I wouldn't be suprised if oscommerce has some sort of 3rd party tool for the same effect since they have such a huge community.

I'm not really up on the technical terms and details, but it uses something like SMS to send a text to my phone when the order is placed and processed, and there is a small text fee involved (couple of cents).
